Belmont Church Plog

I’ve said it before and I am saying it again. I have the greatest job in the world. Not because I get to work in a church or travel to other countries but because I have people like Mick Antanaitis or Ken and Sandra Rideout or Kay Eaves on my speed dial.
I’ve been carrying a burden for quite a while. One which wasn’t mine to carry. I’ve worried and fretted. I’ve had sleepless nights and I’ve been discouraged at times. It has not been an easy season for me. I go to these people from time to time to get clear Godly perspective. Most of the time they are encouraging and nurturing but every so often they hit me between the eyes with God’s word.
The answer to my problem… It’s the second sentence in the second paragraph. “…[not] mine to carry.”
It is so difficult for us isn’t it?
If we see wrong we want to right it.
If we see hurt we want to heal it.
If we see sorrow we want to cheer it up.
If we see stress we want to relieve it.
And often times we are exactly right for the job. Often times we are in the right place at the right time and we are able to bring light and life to a dark and dead scenario. But not always. There are times when we are to pray and let it go. There are times when we have to trust the Spirit of God to work and move.
This is what I’m learning. And I am grateful to be able to learn it with you.
